On Thursday the 21st of October 2021, the ‘Musée des Machines singulières’ (Museum of Singular Machines), welcomed pupils from the Lucien Bénac elementary school (in the Terre Rouge district of Cahors).
The day's activities, full of new discoveries, were offered to the children (transport and admission to the museum), by the Association des ‘Amis de Pierre Andrés’ (Friends of Pierre Andrès).
After a brief reminder of how to behave in a museum and a presentation of the machines, the pupils, divided into small groups, took part in 4 workshops during the day.
Of course, they were able to play with and handle the singular machines.
During the visit, time was set aside to fill in an educational sheet and gain a better understanding of the world of Pierre Andrès and his unusual machines.
Finally, everyone was able to take part in a technology workshop on gears and discover the transmission of movement and gear reduction.
The sunny day, allowed for an outdoor picnic followed by a stroll through the autumn vineyards of Pejusclat.
The day ended with a quiet moment of group storytelling.
