A new machine has been added to the Pierre Andrès Museum collection

It's a brand new, 'pompe à boule’ (ball pump), made by a German cabinet-maker, it’s based on a machine belonging to Steve and Marie-Anges Waring, great friends of Pierre Andrès.
This magnificent copy is not the first by our friend Hans. In fact, two others: ‘un plateau’ (a tray), and ‘un parcours et l'âne’ (circuit and donkey), are also by his hand. The originals can be found in the ‘Kinder-Akademie’ (Children’s Acadamie), in Fulda.
Hans was also asked by Davy Champion, one of the directors of the Phaeno in Wolfburg (Germany), to design five copies of the machines on display in the museum's recently opened children's section.
Copying is a very special process when it comes to a work by Pierre: ‘You have to be able to slip into the mind of the creator’, as Jean Barrau, another carpenter friend who supplied some fine copies for the museum, used to say.
